WoW Herbalism Guide

There is apparently more pressure in levelling up your skills in the Herbalism profession than in any other profession. This is evident in the number of WoW Herbalism Guides going around. Herbalism basically allows you to harvest herbs from different sources scattered around. It is one of the primary professions that would be most beneficial for you if you get it early on in the game. Herbalism will be of use to your other professions so it is good if your start with this. The herbs you will be getting are primarily used for Alchemy and Inscription so that would be hitting more than one bird with one stone, right?

Unlike some professions, Herbalism can be useful to any class either as a source of income or some other specific use. An alchemist though will find it extremely useful because the herbs are used sometimes as ingredients for potions. A WoW Herbalism Guide will not be enough to discuss the benefits of herbs to the alchemist but it would cover the required tools and training you will need to move up in this profession.

Herbalism is similar to skinning and mining in terms of its nature. All of these three professions are gathering professions but what makes Herbalism stands out is that you won’t need any specific tools to accomplish it. There is an exception though as evident in some WoW Herbalism Guides out there that in order to get the high-level herb called bloodvine, you should have a tool called the Blood Scythe in your inventory. You will also need the skill Find Herbs to go through your journey. You can get it while you are learning Apprentice Herbalism. Finding Herbs is a detect ability like Find Minerals so it is only common sense that you cannot activate these two abilities at the same time.

You can also make use of an Herb bag to store all your herbs in. The Herb bag can only carry herbs and a couple of related items but in general it is larger than an average inventory bag. You can also purchase herb bags and if you consult a WoW Herbalism guide, you will find that you can also make a tailor-made one.

1-70: Peacebloom, Silverleaf, and Earthroot
71-130: Mageroyal, Briarthorn, and Stranglekelp
131-170: Bruiseweed and Wild Steelbloom
171-220: Kingsblood, Liferoot, Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, and Khadgar's Whisker
221-270: Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Goldthorn, Sungrass, and Fadeleaf
271-300: Sungrass, Gromsblood, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, and Plaguebloom
301-350: Felweed
351-400: Goldclover
401-435: Goldclover, Tiger Lily, Adder's Tongue
436-450: Icethorn and Lichbloom

It is important to note that there are two ways of approaching herbalism and if you are looking at a WoW Herbalism guide for the sole fact of collecting herbs for alchemy, then you may find yourself in the wrong place. Most guides are focused on leveling up the Herbalism profession as fast as you can. As a consequence, the guide might not be enough to show you where to get all the herbs you need in an alchemy recipe. If you are consulting this guide in the hopes of leveling your alchemy then this would only probably be helpful in the first few levels after which you have to formulate your own strategy. It doesn’t mean though that this guide will be completely useless, there are useful tips here but it won’t help you if you are power-leveling alchemy since the focus in most guides like this is how to level the Herbalism profession.
