WoW Shaman Guide - Savoring the Shaman
In the World of Warcraft lore, Shamans are
considered as the spiritual leaders of their tribes and
clans. As any well-respected WoW Shaman guide will tell
you, this means that Shamans are masters of the elements.
This means they can use spells and totems that can heal or
assist their allies in battle, while also being able to
smite their foes using the power of the elements.
So what exactly are their strengths and weaknesses? Let this
WoW Shaman guide walk you through this.
Shamans can wear medium armor and wield intimidating
two-handed weapons in combat. Their main strength lies in
their versatility.

Shamans can jump into battle ready for melee, or restore
their allies’ health and boost their abilities. As an added
bonus, they can also hurl lightning elementals against enemies
at whim.
One of the best shamanistic assets is totems. Totems grant
all shamans with the ability to summon a bevy of helpers, each
dishing out dramatically helpful boosts to damage, mana
regeneration, etc. This however makes Shamans totally dependent
to totems. In such instances, their strength also becomes their
immediate weakness.
What this WoW Shaman guide will show you though is that the
class has more than just totems to enhance their effectiveness.
Shamans also have multiple pseudo-enchants for melee weapons
with each having a separate style of buffs.
As an enhancement, these spells represent a significant
boost to your melee DPS. Couple this with the use of dual wield
and you possess an even higher chance to proc the effects.
Outside meleeing and absolutely Shaman’s forte, the
elemental attacks are a worthy option. Word of advice from this
WoW Shaman guide: Use the elemental attacks to their optimum
potential as these give them the ability to play the role of
ranged caster.
Of course, like any WoW Shaman guide will tell you, Shamans
aren’t too shabby when it comes to healing. In fact, their
healing capabilities represent one of the most desired healers
for all end-game raiding as chain heal brings massive amounts
of health back to multiple raid members. Due to the fact that
shamans possess healing spells, First Aid is also always a
priority. At the very least it gives the character more
mana-efficiency as well as flexibility when you’re going on
solo raids or doing PvP battles in the Arena.
When it comes to professions, shamans also enjoy a rich pool
of choices. Allow this WoW Shaman guide to help you with
these.
While it’s true that trade skills are less meaningful for
shamans, that doesn't mean it's all unimportant. Leatherworking
for instance, should be a very worthy endeavor for your
character as it allows you to craft a reasonable armor for your
Shaman. Of course, it’s still Mining, Skinning, and Herbalism
that should suit the class best and would produce the best
results. Make sure you spend at least half as much time on
these professions as you do on doing quests, making raids, and
engaging in the Arenas.
Having written all these, shamans is easily the most diverse
and flexible characters in the World of Warcraft. Shamans
possess a keen ability to adapt, as well as a unique advantage
of being able to face any odds, setting, or situation without
making too many changes with the setup.
